Pacabella Farm Alpacas

I thought I was going to Pacabella’s website — how did I end up on your farm website?  It’s a new world out there — our website was hacked and is totally inaccessible!  It’s a lot of work to put a website together but we’re starting over with a new site.  The new site will incorporate our 3 original websites into one.  It will be much easier to navigate and you won’t feel like you’re jumping from one site to the next.  So, stay tuned!

In the meantime, if you need anything or have any questions, please drop us a line at or give us a call:  (540)890-8364.

We are John, Robin and Isabella Watson of Pacabella Farm Alpacas. Our 14 acre farm is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, just a few miles from both Smith Mountain Lake and Roanoke. Our new farm is home to 10 huacaya alpacas and 5 chickens!

We haven’t always been an alpaca farm – heavens no! Seven years ago, we went to a strawberry festival. We set out to pick some strawberries, eat some popcorn and let the girls ride the ferris wheel. Little did we know that a great adventure was in store for us! There we met 2 darling alpacas — Tigger and Java. We didn’t even know what an alpaca was when we went to the festival, but we fell in love at first sight with these adorable animals. We talked about them in the car ride home and immediately started researching the alpaca business, attending shows, seminars and visiting other alpaca farms.

But we didn’t stop there - we ended up buying Tigger and Java. Amazingly, the 2 boys that we fell in love with at the strawberry festival became our very own! These geldings have personality plus and are so gentle and easy to handle. Java is so quiet and friendly that he will be Isabella’s “obstacle” alpaca at the alpaca shows, which is a performance class for children. Don’t tell any of them, but Tigger has quickly become my favorite!

As you can see, this is an adventure the whole family is enjoying! Our alpacas are truly exceptional, chosen carefully for their fine fiber and bred to improve on that fineness while paying close attention to conformation and density. We invite you to visit Pacabella Farm Alpacas and allow us to introduce our outstanding alpacas and lifestyle to you – just give us a call or send us an email!
